Some thoughts for Thursday...

Like I've said before, I'm a big fan of the Bloomberg Sustainable Finance Brief that comes out weekly. This week's top story is that China has jumped on the bandwagon of forward-thinking economies that are making the bold decision to phase-out internal combustion powered cars. This is very exciting when you consider the positive impact this could have on emissions. When you consider that China is also installing solar and wind generation at a record pace, it gives you hope! Read the Bloomberg article here.

We're less than a month away from our fourth annual Earth Equity Speaker Series here in Asheville on October 3rd. We have two fantastic speakers lined up - Dr. Katharine Wilkinson, the lead author on the amazing new book Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming. I'd highly recommend you pick up a copy and read it before coming to the event!

Our second speaker is John Sutter, the climate change columnist over at CNN. I'm really looking forward to moderating the discussion with these two thought leaders!

We will fill The Collider to capacity, so if you want to come, we need you to RSVP -  head over to this site and sign up now!!!

Finally, it's my favorite time of year - NHL hockey players report to training camp today! My favorite team, the Buffalo Sabres have had a few very disappointing years in a row, but I'm optimistic for this season! New coach, new GM and new attitude!!!

You can find me reading The Buffalo News Sabres section when I'm taking a break from financial reading. It's a good distraction!
