An eventful week

An eventful week

It's only Thursday, but it seems like it should be Saturday. What an eventful week we've had around here at Earth Equity!!!

Monday started off with the arrival of our friend and colleague, Katharine Wilkinson. Katharine is the lead author at the Drawdown Project - the project aims to provide solutions to Reverse climate change! You should buy the book - its great and you'll learn a lot - I know I did!!!

Monday evening, Katharine gave a presentation to Creation Care Alliance of WNC focused on five of the solutions included in the book, reducing food waste, plant-rich diet, temperate forests, refrigeration and educating girls.

Tuesday afternoon, Katharine was over at everybody's favorite independent bookstore, Malaprops for a book signing. CNN's John Sutter was there to pick up his copy!

Tuesday evening at The Collider, was Earth Equity's Fourth Annual Speaker Series event. What a great time - it was our biggest event yet with upwards of 190 attendees!!! In addition to Katharine, we had John Sutter, a CNN columnist and investigative journalist who focuses on climate change. I moderated a discussion covering everything from climate and science communication to Drawdown and several solutions in the book.

We'll be sharing a video and more pictures of the event very soon...

Finally...

I gave a talk to WENOCA - the Western North Carolina chapter of the Sierra Club last night about fossil fuel divestment. Over 80 people showed up to learn about how they can align their investments with their values. The group was engaged and asked great questions. Many thanks go out to group leaders, Judy Mattox and Ken Brame for making the event happen!!

I am grateful to everyone on my Earth Equity team for helping to make this week happen without me going crazy - Catherine Campbell & Kerry Keihn specifically. Every event went off without a hitch.

So what am I doing tonight???
