I may be a little late to the blog game, but I have a lot to say - so here goes...

You may be wondering why I titled my site 'Intentional Assets'. It's because I owned the domain name - well, that's not the only reason.

I have long been a proponent of intentionality - living life on purpose and with purpose. Years ago, at a Jack Canfield seminar, he presented the principle of 'High Intention, Low Attachment.' Often times, we become paralyzed by our attachments to people, things or goals. And while focus is important, it's also important to be able to let go and allow the universe to do it's magic. We've all heard the adage, if you love something set it free and if it comes back it was meant to be - same thing.

At my business, Earth Equity Advisors, we strive to be very intentional about how we invest our clients' monies. We constantly ask the question "what do we WANT to own?" followed up by "is this company making a positive difference?" And while our portfolios are fossil-fuel-free, that never becomes an issue because those are not the companies that we want to invest in.

I'm excited to launch this blog because its about me as a person, not just me as a business person. If I want to discuss work, fine - but I also want to share my photography, review the many books I read, talk about travel with my amazing wife, Melissa Booth and maybe even gush about our 2 great cats, Savannah and Buster Douglas.

I hope you enjoy and provide feedback - both positive and negative to help me make a bigger impact - intentionally!
