Responsibly Made Shoes? Must be a B Corp!

Responsibly Made Shoes? Must be a B Corp!

I've been very excited about writing this blog. When I was shopping for shoes a while back, I decided to look and see if any shoe manufacturers are B Corporations. Turns out, several are!!!

The company that I liked the most was Oliberte' - a social enterprise supporting workers in sub-Saharan Africa. They pay workers a fair, living wage to produce some great looking footwear!

One of the things I like on their website is the phrase: Trade, not aid. Providing meaningful, fairly compensated jobs helps to instill a sense of pride and ownership. It feels good to support an organization like Oliberte'

But do they feel good? Yes! They run big, so I had to return the first pair they sent, but when the smaller pair arrived, they fit like a glove and are super comfortable.

I especially like the map-tread. What a cool idea!!!

When is the last time you bought some shoes that were made with love and made a positive impact on someone's life?

The next time you're in the market for products or services, check out the B Corporation business listings first - you might be able to magnify your impact by supporting a B Corp.

Now go get you some shoes!!!
