So much hate, negativity and misunderstanding. The events of this weekend continues to boggle my mind. How one person can feel so threatened by another, simply because of the color of their skin or their belief system is beyond me.

When you live life in a constant state of fear and with a scarcity mindset, you believe its us against them. Everyone is perceived as a threat. This only gets amplified when we concentrate our information sources - the echo chamber if you will.*

I work hard to live life with an abundance mindset (as opposed to scarcity.) An abundance mindset stems from the belief that we're all in this together and when we work together, everyone has an opportunity to better themselves. My success is your success. Its the basis of how Earth Equity does business and I'm proud of it!

Ponder for a moment the question in your own life: Do I live with a scarcity mindset or an abundance mindset?

* Don't get me wrong, confirmation bias exists on both sides creating frothy followers who act irrationally and no longer question their sources.

Markets have recovered from the volatility associated with the North Korea "threat." Like I said in my client letter last week, its ridiculous to think that we're going to start lobbing nukes at each other over the Pacific. The market's reaction was emotional. Fundamentals remain good for the most part, but I continue to keep a close eye on things...

Here's some more to read in The Economist about the death of the internal combustion engine (one of my recurring themes).

So you know that I like photography, and really enjoy sharing my work. My nephew is an aspiring artist as well and spends a lot of time honing his craft.

One thing that I do to help him out is send some photos based on the themes he's currently working on. Yesterday, I sent him some coastal scenes from my collection. Here's an example of his process...
